Shadows review! Pledge update! Ramblin' Roots Revue

Hi all, The Shadows EP received its first review, and it was a great one from long time supporters Rootstime. The review is in Dutch, but canny use of Google Translate should see you right.

It's very encouraging that Shadows has been so well received. "New Year's Day" has even been picked up by Spotify playlists and has been my most played track every week since it was released.

Shadows is pretty crucial in my career progression, as for me, the EP is the final piece of the bridge from the acoustic sound of You Get So Alone... and the "middle ground" of Always Be True, to the rockier sound of Pieces (which completes a path back to the kind of stuff I was writing in The Whybirds).

It's almost as if there's a plan at work here (funny that!). But as mentioned elsewhere, there are still three ballads on the record, and trust me when I say I'm not done with the acoustic guitar yet! Don't forget, you can buy digital editions of the EP in the store. However, the absolute, very-last-in-the-world physical copies are being sold as part of the "back catalogue" bundle in the crowdfunding campaign for the aforementioned Pieces album. As of this writing, there are only seven left. Speaking of the Pledge, it's currently sitting at 84% with 23 days to go. We're into the final furlong now, and this part is always the proverbial squeaky-bum-time. If I don't hit my target, the album doesn't get released, which would be a real shame as I think this new record is a stonker. So if you can spare anything and want to pre-order the album, please go here.

Remember, this bad boy is already recorded, so there'll only be a short gap between hitting my target and the record hitting your inboxes/doormats.

Finally, it's less than a month until I return to the UK from New York City to play Ramblin' Roots Revue. It's a wonderful, affordable indoor festival, and if you're a fan of the UK Americana scene you won't want to miss it!
