Flying Pig, Cambridge tonight

I'll be heading over to Cambridge tonight to play at The Flying Pig, a great little place on Hills Road. What's more, I'll be playing with the brilliant Paul McClure, so it's going to be a wonderful night! Music will start at 9pm. Don't forget, myself and the Penny Dreadfuls will be heading over to The Bear Club in Luton on Friday night, playing a full length show.

Bear Club, Luton next Friday!

Myself and The Penny Dreadfuls will be headlining The Bear Club in Luton next Friday (30th October). It's a wonderful venue, I've heard nothing but compliments as to how cool the place is. It's really worth checking out. There's an excellent beer selection too. It's basically next to the train station as well, so it's dead easy to get to from London or Bedford. It's gonna be a full length set and it's gonna be a fun one. Further details on tickets, directions etc can be found here.

The Laughing Heart - National Poetry Day

As today is National Poetry Day, I thought I'd share this by – who else? – Charles Bukowski. It's called The Laughing Heart. your life is your life don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission. be on the watch. there are ways out. there is a light somewhere. it may not be much light but it beats the darkness. be on the watch. the gods will offer you chances. know them. take them. you can’t beat death but you can beat death in life, sometimes. and the more often you learn to do it, the more light there will be. your life is your life. know it while you have it. you are marvelous the gods wait to delight in you.

"You Get So Alone..." turns one!

I very nearly let an important milestone pass me by yesterday. I was just about to go to bed when I remembered that You Get So Alone At Times That It Just Makes Sense was a year old! It feels a lot older than one to me, as Tom and I started recording it in January 2011, and it was finished and sent out to people who Pledged on the record by May 2014. But, yes, its official release date was the 6th October! If you haven't got a copy of the CD or a download, head over to the store to get one. You can read all the reviews for the album here too.
